Assisted by his wife Steph, some famous faces and members of the Great British public, he’ll be helping viewers decide how to spend their cash wisely when it comes to the minefield of choice that hit the shelves in the summer, covering everything from food and drink to the latest gadgets and essentials for indoors and outdoors.

Birds of a Feather’s Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph take a dip into the burgeoning world of the inflatable hot tub. Meanwhile, Chris Kamara works up a sweat at a hot yoga studio to pit a top of the range fan against a basic one to discover if the 17 times price difference is worth it.

And Stacey Solomon and her sons Zachary and Leighton test out Phillip’s suggestions for the best garden games for under £50.

Next it’s the battle of the juicers, where the latest masticating slow juicer goes head to head with a more traditional fast one, the team heads to Manchester to ask the public to rank their favourite supermarket Rosé wine, and Phillip gives £100 gas and charcoal barbecues a grilling.

Finally Phillip tests some more unusual summer offerings to try to determine if they are products you should get, or forget. Tonight it’s the turn of the Trono inflatable chair which blows up in three seconds and the Grillbot, a robot that claims to take away the pain of cleaning up after a BBQ.

Once the testing is all over, Phillip crowns his top 3 best buys. Which one will impress most when it comes to spending it well on your house and garden this summer?
