-The Bristol-based production company will follow people starting a new life in Greece –

RDF West, a Banijay Group Company, today announces Channel 5 has ordered a 4×60’ observational documentary series, My New Greek Life, due to air next year.

The series will follow people as they give up the rat race in the UK and relocate to the Greek Islands in search of a new adventure. With its rich cultural history and 3,000 hours of sunshine a year, more and more Brits are deciding to move there in the hope of finding a simpler, more peaceful way to live.

My New Greek Life will see families who have recently made the jump and moved to Greece and follow those who are in the throws of doing so, watching as they try to navigate their way in a new country. Faced with challenges such as learning a new language, finding a home, job, setting up a business, making friends, and finding romance, will the reality match up to the idyllic, sun-drenched lifestyle they have been dreaming of?

Jo Scarratt-Jones, Deputy Head of RDF West & Head of Popular Factual said: “This series will be an aspirational look at people who have taken the plunge and are trying to realise their dreams of living in Greece. We will be showing Channel 5 viewers not only spectacular scenery in an incredibly beautiful location, but will also, hopefully, inspire audiences to think: ‘If they can do it, maybe so can I…’”

My New Greek Life was commissioned by Denise Seneviratne at Channel 5 and is Executive Produced by Jo Scarratt-Jones at RDF West. RDF West is part of the Banijay Group and all worldwide rights to the show are owned by Banijay Rights.
