Humble Pie

A cookery series presented by Melanie Sykes and judged by world famous and notoriously demanding chef Marco Pierre White.  In Humble Pie cooking is only ever half the battle; it’s a show where awful cooks can con their way to victory.  If the pressure gets too much, brilliant cooks can rule themselves out at the push of a button – it’s the equivalent of gastronomic poker.

Four amateur chefs who will be battling it out for a £2500 prize enter the kitchen.  There is shock all round when the contestants realise that they will be cooking for three Michelin starred, legendary chef, Marco Pierre-White. If they weren’t nervous before, they certainly are now.

In the first round the contestants are given the same box of ingredients and only limited instructions, and it’s not long before the amateur chefs are sizing each other up. After a stressful hour of cooking, with none of them confident about how to make the dish, it’s time to plate up for Marco to taste.

In the tasting room Marco tries each dish and is brutally honest, but whose is the worst?

At the same time the contestants taste each other’s food and face a dilemma: if they think theirs is the worst, do they press the button and cash out, or do they try and convince their opponents to leave? If no one pushes the button, Marco will decide who will leave without any cash.  The three remaining go on to make their main course and are whittled down to two, who battle it out with a showstopper dessert.  Who will crack under the pressure and which of them will win the top prize?
