This may be by email, on the telephone , by post or in a face to face meeting We may also receive information about you from third parties, for example, from a friend who wants to tell you about a programme.

The types of information collected might include names, date of birth, e-mail address, postal address, telephone number, fax number and personal details relating to your family, lifestyle, beliefs and opinions.
How do we use this information?
We will use your personal information in order to research the production of television programmes and possibly in the actual production of the programme once you have consented to appear in a programme. This information will only be used for this specific purpose. We may need to share your information with the commissioning broadcasters of the programmes and any other party directly connected with the production and distribution of the programme to the extent necessary
How do we protect personal information?
We use a secure server to store all contributors ’ details at RDF. We also take appropriate measures to ensure that the information disclosed to us is kept secure, accurate and up to date. We will only keep your personal data on file for as long as it is relevant, necessary and useful to us or until you ask us to amend or delete it form the files which you may do at any time. We will delete the data from the file as soon as it is no longer required.
Will we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?
As indicated above, we may pass your information to the broadcaster of the programme and any other party directly associated with the production and distribution of the programme to the extent necesary.
We may also need to disclose your information if required to do so by law.
Your consent
By providing us with your personal data, including sensitive personal data such as on your health, you consent to the collection and use of any information you provide in accordance with the above purposes and this privacy statement.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you (for which we may charge a small fee) and to have any inaccuracies in your information corrected.
