Shipwrecked returns for 2009
Channel 4 has green lit a new series of the hit series Shipwrecked from RDF Television, part of the RDF Media Group, to be broadcast on Channel 4 in 2009.
RDF Television has secured a recommission of 16 hours for Shipwrecked that will see a brand new batch of islanders head out to an idyllic tropical paradise later this summer.
Commissioning editor Jules Oldroyd said: "The current series of Shipwrecked has delivered more twists and turns than ever before & continues to be a real hit with viewers. We are delighted to be able to re commission the series, with the confidence that our plans for next year will deliver something equally compelling."
RDF Television’s hit reality show Shipwrecked started in 2000 as the original desert island show and is currently on air in its sixth series as Shipwrecked 2008: Battle of the Islands in a Sunday morning slot, achieving a series peak of nearly 1m viewers. Viewers can find out the winning team in the episode broadcast on Sunday 20th July on Channel 4.
Shipwrecked will be executive produced by Tayte Simpson. The commissioning editors for T4 are Jules Oldroyd and Sangeeta Bhaskar.
